Terms of Service

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

The Long Version

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Aramantos Digital services (including ProveChain, TimeAnchor, SignaSeal, Vigilo Verify, and future products), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our services. For business customers, processing of personal data is governed by the Aramantos Digital Data Processing Agreement.

2. Description of Services

Aramantos Digital provides verification and accountability tools:

• ProveChain: Cryptographic file timestamping and integrity verification using SHA-256 hashing and Bitcoin blockchain anchoring via OpenTimestamps
• TimeAnchor: Independent, client-side proof verification tool. Free, no account required
• SignaSeal: Digital signature platform with tamper-proof signing records and verifiable proof of who signed what, and when
• Vigilo Verify: Continuous file integrity monitoring with hash-chained audit trails
• Future products: As announced on our website

Aramantos Digital provides the technology platform and tools. The outcomes of using these tools, including the legal validity of documents, the accuracy of your content, and compliance with your local laws, are your responsibility.

3. Connected Services

Some products allow you to connect third-party cloud services (GitHub, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) via OAuth, or storage services (Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage) via API key, to enable cloud-based proof creation.

• Connected services are provided by third parties. Aramantos Digital is not responsible for their availability, performance, or changes to their APIs.
• You are responsible for maintaining valid credentials for your connected services.
• When you connect a service, our servers access your files solely to compute cryptographic hashes. File content is immediately discarded after hashing and is never stored on our servers.
• Disconnecting a service immediately removes your stored credentials from our database. Proofs already created using that service are not affected.

4. Free vs Paid Tiers

Free Tiers

• Free tiers are genuinely free, forever
• We will not remove features from free tiers (no bait-and-switch)
• Free tier limits (e.g., number of verifications) are clearly stated
• We may add new free features but will not remove existing ones

Paid Tiers

• Monthly subscriptions, billed automatically
• Cancel anytime, no penalties or fees
• Refunds: Pro-rated if service is unavailable for 48+ hours
• Price changes: 30 days notice before any increase

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use our services to:

• Violate laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to breach our security or infrastructure
• Use automated tools to scrape or abuse our services

Violation may result in account suspension or termination.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (files, documents, signatures, etc.).

• ProveChain: File hashes may be publicly visible for verification purposes. Files themselves never leave your browser (for manual proofs) or are immediately discarded after hashing (for connected service proofs).
• TimeAnchor: No content is stored or transmitted. Verification is entirely client-side.
• SignaSeal: Signed documents are stored securely on our platform to support the signing workflow, sharing, and verification. SignaSeal provides the tools and platform for creating agreements, the legal standing of any contract depends on its content, which you control.
• We do not claim ownership of your content
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit content

7. Intellectual Property

Our services, including website design and code, logos, branding, trademarks, and documentation, are owned by Aramantos Digital and protected by intellectual property laws.

Open Source: Some components (e.g., ProveChain CLI) are open source under MIT license. See individual repositories for details.

8. Limitation of Liability

Important: Aramantos Digital provides verification and accountability tools. You are responsible for how you use them, including the accuracy of your content and compliance with your local laws.

• We are not liable for data loss, business interruption, or indirect damages
• Maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months
• For free tier users, liability is limited to €100

Best effort: We will do our best to keep services running, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime.

9. Service Availability

• We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee it
• Scheduled maintenance will be announced 24 hours in advance
• Emergency maintenance may happen without notice
• If service is unavailable for 48+ hours, paid users get a pro-rated refund

10. Force Majeure

Aramantos Digital is not liable for service interruptions caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: widespread telecommunications or infrastructure failures, cyber-attacks or distributed denial-of-service attacks (where reasonable preventive measures were taken), sudden changes in law or regulation that affect service delivery, natural disasters, or failures of third-party services on which the platform depends (such as blockchain networks, cloud infrastructure providers, or payment processors).

11. Account Termination

By You

• Delete your account anytime from account settings
• Free tier: Documents retained for 48 hours after completion, then permanently deleted
• Individual tiers: Data permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion
• Enterprise tiers: Data permanently deleted within 90 days of account deletion
• Paid subscriptions: Cancel anytime, no refunds for partial months

By Us

• We may terminate accounts that violate these terms
• We will provide 14 days notice (unless illegal activity is involved)
• You will have 7 days to export your data before deletion

12. Service Shutdown

If Aramantos Digital decides to shut down:

• 90 days notice will be given
• All paid users will receive pro-rated refunds
• You will have 90 days to export your data
• Tools will be provided to help you migrate to alternatives

Open source commitment: ProveChain CLI will remain open source, even if the business shuts down.

13. Changes to Terms

• We may update these terms occasionally
• Significant changes: 30 days notice via email
• Minor changes: Posted on website with updated date
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes will be resolved in Irish courts.
